We're happy to guide you through the entire process – from the initial investigation to the submission of the activity plan. This ensures the narrative is accurate, the ecological justification is sound, and the application process runs smoothly.

Are you joining later, for example, with a report from another agency? We can also guide you through the permitting process. We'll critically review the supporting evidence, supplement it where necessary, correct any issues, and ensure the application still meets the Environmental Agency's requirements.

Permit application

Activities that impact protected natural areas often require a permit under the Environmental Act. This includes construction, renovation, demolition, or felling trees where protected animal or plant species are present. This process takes time. We can help you apply for this permit in a complete and well-substantiated manner.

Have we previously conducted a nature assessment or species survey for you? Then we can prepare the application directly based on our own data. Did you have the ecological survey conducted by another agency? No problem, we'll carefully review the documents and then handle the permitting process for you.

We prepare the application, handle the submission to the appropriate agency, and liaise with the competent authority. You'll receive clear, non-verbal communication from us, and we'll keep you informed throughout the process. This way, you'll know exactly what to expect.

Cost guideline

The costs for submitting a permit application depend on the presence of protected species, the necessary measures, and the ecological studies conducted. Below is an indication:

  • 📄 Simple process – from €750* For example: one species group is involved (such as house sparrows or bats), a usable study is already available, or we have conducted the study. The required mitigation measures are clearly presented.

  • 🛠️ Average trajectory – from €1,050* For example: multiple species groups are involved (e.g. bats and house sparrows), the required measures are more extensive or more location-specific.

  • 📚 Extensive process – from €1,350* For example: less common or complex protected species are involved, the application requires extensive ecological substantiation or coordination with the province.

NB:

🧰 Costs for mitigation measures: The costs of implementing mitigation measures (such as installing nest boxes and facilities) are not included. We will prepare a separate, customized quote for this, based on the number and type of measures.
⚖️ Fees: The prices listed above do not include fees (costs for permit processing by the municipality or province). These vary by location and the duration of the required permit, and usually range from €400 to over €3,000. We will inform you of these fees in advance.
* All amounts mentioned above are exclusive of VAT.
